- PublicationAprendizaje basado en proyectos: Generación de pódcast en asignaturas de 1º del Grado de Comunicación Audiovisual(Editorial Universitat Politècnica de València, 2021-09-28) Sanchis Rico, Juan Manuel; Terol Bolinches, Raúl; Navarro Laboulais, Cristina Teresa; Mas Castells, Josep Àngel; Dpto. de Ingeniería Electrónica; Dpto. de Comunicación Audiovisual, Documentación e Historia del Arte; Dpto. de Lingüística Aplicada; Instituto de Diseño para la Fabricación y Producción Automatizada; Escuela Politécnica Superior de Gandia; Grupo de Investigación para la Enseñanza de lenguas Asistida por Ordenador (CAMILLE); Biosignals And Minimally Invasive Technologies-BioMIT[EN] The objective of the project was to use the educational podcast as a technological tool to favor the development of specific competences of the subjects of the 1st Degree in Audiovisual Communication as well as some transversal competences such as Comprehension and Integration, Effective Communication, Planning and management. of the time, and the Specific Instrumental. The application of this methodology allows the student to be a participant in the creation process and turns him into a prosumer: the student receives the technical knowledge necessary for the production of the podcast from some subjects and then generate podcasts that allow him to acquire the theoretical knowledge of other subjects. all this under the tutoring of the teaching staff. The results obtained showed an improvement in the degree of acquisition of the skills worked, increasing their degree of satisfaction and their participation in the teaching-learning process.
- PublicationEstudio de la eliminación de arritmias cardíacas mediante el uso de la modelización matemática(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2013-06-02) González-Suárez, Ana; Trujillo, Macarena; Berjano Zanón, Enrique; Dpto. de Ingeniería Electrónica; Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería del Diseño; Biosignals And Minimally Invasive Technologies-BioMIT; Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación; Universitat Politècnica de València; Generalitat Valenciana[EN] Mathematical modeling is a fast and low cost tool used as a first approach to solve certain problems in real contexts. In this paper we present an example of how a real clinical problem, in the context of cardiac surgery, can be simulated and responded to through mathematical models. Specifically, the resolution of these models, which are based on a coupled electric-thermal problem, allows us to assess in detail the temperature distribution and the geometry of the thermal lesion created in the ventricular wall after radiofrequency ablation in order to eliminate cardiac arrhythmias.
- PublicationUna experiencia para favorecer el aprendizaje profundo del concepto umbral de función en Matemáticas(Editorial Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-10-06) Trujillo Guillen, Macarena; Atarés Huerta, Lorena María; Canet Subiela, María José; Pérez Pascual, Mª Asunción; Dpto. de Tecnología de Alimentos; Dpto. de Ingeniería Electrónica; Dpto. de Matemática Aplicada; Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura; Instituto Universitario de Telecomunicación y Aplicaciones Multimedia; Instituto Universitario de Ingeniería de Alimentos (FoodUPV); Escuela Politécnica Superior de Gandia; Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica y del Medio Natural; Biosignals And Minimally Invasive Technologies-BioMIT; Universitat Politècnica de València[EN] A threshold concept is a transformative concept that students must assimilate to deeply understand the subject and its subsequent transfer to other disciplines. In the field of Mathematics, there are different threshold concepts, among them, the function concept is one of the most relevant. There are numerous studies to corroborate that students have several learning difficulties and misconceptions about this concept that make it difficult to understand. In order to help students overcome learning difficulties and confront misconceptions related to the concept of function in Mathematics, our goal has been to carry out the innovation presented in this paper. The results obtained in two academic years are shown. In the first course, we only focus on detecting difficulties and misconceptions. In the second course, we also carried out an intervention in the classroom. The results suggest that the actions have improved the students' understanding of the concept of function, and also highlight other aspects to continue improving.
- PublicationMathematical modeling: a valuable training aid for new medical devices(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2010-06-19) Berjano Zanón, Enrique; Dpto. de Ingeniería Electrónica; Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería del Diseño; Biosignals And Minimally Invasive Technologies-BioMIT[EN] The paper deals with biomedical modeling in general and in particular how modeling techniques can be used to improve the training of clinical practitioners in the use of new medical devices. The Bioheat Equation is given as an example to show how, even though mathematical models are based on complex equations, the terms of the equations represent phenomena which can be intuitively understood. The paper also describes examples in which mathematical modeling was used to study the performance of medical devices, especially those related with radiofrequency ablation.
- PublicationUso del pódcast como recurso educativo en los estudios del Grado en Comunicación Audiovisual(Editorial Universitat Politècnica de València, 2021-09-28) Sanchis Rico, Juan Manuel; Fernández Planells, Ariadna; Alonso López, Nàdia; Burgos Ramírez, Enric Antoni; Dpto. de Ingeniería Electrónica; Dpto. de Comunicación Audiovisual, Documentación e Historia del Arte; Escuela Politécnica Superior de Gandia; Biosignals And Minimally Invasive Technologies-BioMIT; Grupo de Comunicación, Arte y Cultura Visual[EN] The question that pose us is if the student is able to produce and consume contents of a subject, using like resource the educational podcast; and as this can influence in the acquisition of the specific and transversal competitions. This active methodology has applied in subjects of the Degree of Audiovisual Communication to generate contents of subjects of 2º, 3º and 4º, under the supervision of the professor, reinforcing transversal competitions like the communicative skill or the work in group. The results obtained show an improvement in the degree of acquisition of the competitions worked augmenting his degree of satisfaction and his participation in the process of education learning.
