[EN] The present text addresses the distinction between the sign and the symbol and its dramatic consequences in the society of information. The origin of the symbol is briefly traced to delimit a diffuse definition that all ows, within the aesthetic terrain, the benefit of the renovating and inexhaustible capacity of sense as opposed to the immediate connection of the obvious. Thus, symbolist art gives way to the symbolic experience, that is, an experience of unification where spaces of comprehension can be reopened without the negation of the hide aspects of reality, and from the ineffable the world can be reorganized without reaching to exhaust its multiple sense.
